Improve your sleep quality against seasonal allergies and dust

Spring is gone, dust remains! Pollen, dust mites, and even pet dander are some of the common allergens that can affect our sleep in a particularly severe way as the temperature rises. But what are the ways to reduce their influence during sleep and how a mattress made of hypoallergenic materials can help for this purpose? Common allergens that affect sleep hygiene are…
  1. Pollen
Pollen is one of the most common triggers of spring allergies. Trees, flowers and grasses release large amounts of pollen into the air, causing symptoms such as sneezing, itchy eyes and a runny nose. Pollen can also affect sleep, causing nasal congestion and sleep disruptions.
  1. Dust mites
Dust mites are tiny organisms that live in pillows, mattresses and bedding. They feed on dead skin cells and can cause allergic reactions including sneezing, coughing and nasal congestion. These symptoms can worsen at night, disrupting sleep.
  1. Pet hair
Hair and dead skin cells from pets can cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. If you have pets and allow them to sleep in the bedroom, exposure to allergens can increase and affect your sleep quality.

Clean bedroom for healthy sleep

Clean your bedroom regularly to reduce the presence of allergens. Use a vacuum cleaner with a HEPA filter to remove dust and pollen from floors and carpets.

Hypoallergenic Bedding

Use hypoallergenic pillows and mattresses that are resistant to dust mites. Wash bedding in hot water weekly to kill dust mites and remove pollen and other allergens.

Ventilate the bedroom...carefully!

While it's tempting to leave windows open to let in fresh air, this can allow pollen to enter your home. Prefer to use an air conditioner with filters to keep the atmosphere clean and cool.

Hypoallergenic sleeping mats

Choosing the right bedding can make a big difference to the quality of your sleep if you have allergies. Look for products that are specifically designed to be hypoallergenic, such as: – Ventilated sleeping mattresses and pillows made of user-friendly hypoallergenic materials, reinforced with a cover that prevents the penetration of mites – Bedding made from materials such as cotton or bamboo that are naturally hypoallergenic
